In order to create these works, first I had to research Gilbert Garcin’s style of photography so I could pick up on the small nuanced details that made his images unique, such as the dream-like surrealist images that would depict a small version of himself embarking on adventures in his worlds. Garcin himself would create his works all in one image, without the use of fancy technology like Photoshop. He would do this by taking a photo of himself, printing it out to the desired size, which sometimes be as small as a quarter, and position the print with larger objects to give the image scale.
